The Green Hornet
Seth Rogen and Jay Chou brought back to life the seemingly long forgotten superhero “The Green Hornet” in January 2011 with an action-packed feature film by the same name. Seth plays The Green Hornet/Britt Reid and Jay is Kato, the high-flying martial arts sidekick and gadget man.
The film is set in modern times with the two infiltrating organized crime to tear it down. However, the costume designer retained a retro nod to the duo’s origins. Instead of going full-on vintage, Rogen’s Green Hornet wears a dark green stingy brim fedora. This fedora shape and design is a dead ringer for the Bailey Wynn. Unfortunately, that hat is not available in a dark green. Similarly sized and shaped in a dark green is the Bailey Tino.
Both hats are great for an action movie. Made from Lite Felt, they are water repellant and crushable. Crushable doesn’t mean you can run it over with a truck, but if you compress it from side to side to pack it in suitcase, it will retake its original shape when you unpack it.
Fans of Kato’s chauffer costume will be disappointed that there aren’t many “chauffer hats” available, but a Greek fiddler hat is actually a very close match.

The Tino is a great hat. It’s one of the first fedoras I bought, and it is my favorite.
