It provides a touch of shade while maintaining an open-weave design that allows for the hat to naturally vent extra heat from the crown. The bottom front of the brim is lined with cloth to keep the sun out of your eyes. A pinch guard in the center dent crown helps to keep the hat from being accidently crushed. The colorful cloth hatband gives the Stetson Merrill a flair of Native American art. Inside the hat is a cloth sweatband for comfort and absorbency. Made in U.S.A.
